SAP S/4HANA Deployment Options

Do you use SAP in your company? Do you also know which ERP system deployment option you are using? The SAP S/4HANA ERP system is offered in the on-premise, public cloud or private cloud deployment options. These options enable a customized implementation that optimally meets both performance and security requirements.

SAP S/4HANA On-Premise

The ERP system is installed on a local server or on an in-house or off-site data center to maintain and provide the customer's data and applications. It is not uncommon for processes to be adapted flexibly and on a customer-specific basis.

The customer's (internal) IT infrastructure must be open to system adaptations. On the other hand, operating your own local servers and data centers is costly. Also with regard to the high IT security standards to be met. The customer is responsible for keeping releases up to date.

SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud

Applications and services are run in a designated environment. Users can take advantage of the added value associated with the cloud via a web browser. This includes, for example, installation and maintenance-free IT tools. SAP sets deadlines and reminds users of release updates.

Compared to the public cloud, the private cloud offers greater individuality, as customer-specific adaptations are easier to implement. SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud

SAP customers share hardware and network infrastructure in this case. Customers can use cloud-typical added value via a web browser. As a result, the costs are lower than with the on-premise option. Data sovereignty remains with the customer and the data cannot be viewed by other customers.

If customers opt for the SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud, SAP offers a complete managed service. Customers must also participate in regular update cycles. The solution is particularly suitable for standardized process landscapes. Customization options are available within existing standards via the Business Technology Platform (BTP).
